Broome 'Free Time'
Enjoy a day at leisure exploring this tropical hideaway. Directly opposite the hotel is Cable Beach, 22km of white sand. Perhaps take an optional camel ride along Cable Beach. Broome is situated on the North West coast of Western Australia, and until the mid 1980s was only accessible by a dirt road. On a narrow peninsula surrounded by the azure waters of the Indian Ocean and Roebuck Bay, and recognised as a world class migratory bird stopover, it is a town where after watching a beautiful sunset you can retire for the night to the sound of waves crashing onshore and wake up to see the sun rise on the other side of the town amidst a torrent of birdsong. Bungle Bungles - Cathedral Gorge
Today we turn off the highway and transfer to our locally based 4WD vehicles for the trip into Purnululu National Park, home to some of Australia's most unique vegetation and geology. This afternoon we tour into the southern side of the National Park and visit beautiful Cathedral Gorge, set as a natural amphitheatre offering amazing acoustics. We will also view the Beehives which are synonymous with the Bungle Bungles. The constant erosion and river movements have formed the huge black and orange striped domes over the last 20 million years. Although used extensively by the Aboriginal people during the wet season, when plant and animal life was abundant, few Europeans knew of their existence until the mid-1980's. Stay: Bungle Bungle Bush Camp, bedded tented cabins with shared semi-ensuite facilities (B/L/D) |

It is truly one of the world's few remaining wild frontiers. Stay: Emma Gorge Resort, (2 nights) Tented cabins with private facilities. (B/L/D) |
